The L-1 relates to transferring professionals within companies that have a qualifying relationship. L-1A and L-1B cover, respectively, executive or managerial roles and specialized knowledge.
The business analysis starts with the existing operation and the role to be performed in the United States. Opening a company, by itself, does not answer the immigration classification questions.
Does the L-1 automatically become a green card?
No. Permanent residence planning requires its own analysis. The consultation can discuss prospects without assuming that L-1A and EB-1C are equivalent.
How to prepare for the first meeting
Prepare a summary of the corporate group, the activities, and your duties. Explain whether the expansion is still being planned or already operates in the United States.
